The Automatic Press Operator is a full-time position. We are hiring immediately  Let’s get you to work today.

1st 5am-3pm

– 2nd 2pm-10pm

Pay Rate
– $15+ (depending on experience)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

-ORGANIZED WORK ENVIRONMENT.  Keep your workstation and area around workstation neat and orderly.

-QUALITY INSPECTION AND RECORD KEEPING.  Must understand and follow all quality instructions, work instructions and procedures. Must be adept at using and understanding micrometers, calipers, and process gages. Accurately and legibly record all required information including SPC charts and maintaining logbooks for every job that runs in the presses you operate.

-SAFETY.  Understand and properly use all personal protective equipment, safety devices and equipment at all times, including safety blocks.

-“TEAMWORK ATTITUDE.”   Capable of working as part of a team and demonstrate a commitment to support group decisions.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS (In addition to the above)

Responsibilities may include any of the following:

-CONTROLS.  Understand press and feeder controls and their functions. This includes a basic understanding of the die protection system and proper response to error codes (pitch, tonnage, part out, etc.)

-Able to properly start and remove coil strips without miss hits or die damage.

-Able to thread a straightened strip through the die in inch mode.

-Recognize coil straightness problems.

-Thorough working knowledge of coil car, reel, straightener, threading table, & feeder.

-Complete hourly press output tracking sheets.

-Knowledge of functions and safe coil handling practices. Able to properly and safely load a coil and start a strip as described above.

-Assure proper scrap exiting at all points of the die.

-Ability and knowledge to assist with set ups including clamping, alignment adjustments, and minor probe adjustments.

-Observe for correct part exiting at cut off station.

-Monitor part quality and follow gillette table procedures.

-Perform Beginning of Run (BOR) and End of Run (EOR) approval process and directed by BOR/EOR check sheets.

-Limited set up requirements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months to one-year related experience and/or training.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS  

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

REASONING ABILITY   

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

QUALITY  While performing the essential functions of this job, action must be initiated to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity relating to product, process, and quality system.  Initiation of action may include stopping production, recording quality problems and reporting quality concerns directly to a leader/supervisor/manager.

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM  While performing the essential functions of the job, action must be taken to maintain, conform and improve the company’s Environmental Management System.  Action should be initiated to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity by reporting problems and concerns directly to management
