Walking Into Forge Industrial Staffing Prepared

By | Tips for Job Seekers | No Comments

Staffing agencies are here to help people be successful and find work. They give you the opportunity to showcase your skills to some of the top companies in the area. There’s also a great opportunity for growth within a staffing agency. Though you are likely to start off as a temporary employee, there’s the possibility of becoming a long-term one.

Our Service Coordinators at Forge Industrial Staffing don’t really know you, or your capabilities. They’re going to start off by having you apply, so that they can get some more information about you. Forge Industrial Staffing requires that applicants be at least 18-years-old and be able to provide two forms of employee verification in order to apply. We will also ask the three following questions in order to get a better understanding of which positions are going to fit you best.

Questions they may ask :

  • What’s your availability like?  Since there are so many job opportunities at different times of the day, a Service Coordinator is going to want to find a position that fits your schedule. They understand that you may have a family to take care of outside of work and want to do the best they can giving you the best work opportunities available. Many staffing agencies offer 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift opportunities, giving everyone the opportunity to work if they wanted too.
  • Do you have reliable transportation? Not every job opportunity is located on the bus line, so it’s important for a service coordinator to know if you have a reliable form of transportation or not. If you don’t have a reliable form of transportation, they’re not going to be able to offer you a job that isn’t located on the bus line. They’ll be able to find you jobs that better fit your needs if they know of your transportation situation.
  • When can you start?  This question plays into your availability. New jobs are always becoming available, meaning you have a higher chance of starting sooner than later. You’re going to want to make sure that you know you’re time commitment to a job before you start it. If you know you’re going to be busy tomorrow for a certain time period, you will not want to agree to start a job then. Our Service Coordinators are going to want to know the earliest you can start and what shift is going to work best for you, so they can fit the job availability to your schedule.

At Forge Industrial Staffing, we pride ourselves on having the resources of a large-scale staffing agency while having the personal touch of a specialty agency. Our qualified staff will work with you to find the right job, or right employees for you.

The Importance of Employee Satisfaction

By | Tips for Employers | No Comments

Employers should always be trying to keep their employees happy. Every dissatisfied employee represents lost productivity if they stay and a disruption of production schedules if they leave. There’s no magical solution for companies keeping their employees, but it can be beneficial for them to understand the importance of maintaining their employees satisfaction. By following these tips, you’re more likely to retain your best employees by increasing their overall work experience and satisfaction.

Show Your Appreciation

When an employee does a good job, let them know you noticed. This doesn’t necessarily mean public praise, or handing out gift cards. No question, financial recognition is sometimes in order, but a sincere expression of praise and appreciation whenever it’s deserved can go further than cash awards or large gestures. There is no question that people tend to do their best work when they are actually being recognized for the time and effort they have put in.

Make Meetings Two-Way

Staff meetings should be for staff as much as for management. Though meetings are normally for giving out information, use meetings to also collect it. Obtain input, comments, feedback, suggestions – and criticisms, complaints and problems. Be honest and open, and assure those who have negative input that it’s being accepted for a positive purpose. Of course you’re not promising to take action on every complaint or suggestion, but you do have to sincerely consider the issues.

Make it Possible to Do Good Work

Many complaints center on the difficulty of doing the job well. People actually want to do good work, but they can’t if they’re struggling with poor tools, inadequate direction, or disruptive task scheduling. Satisfying your employees’ needs in this respect will result in improved product or service quality and enhanced productivity, and that should boost your bottom line directly.

Opportunities with Forge Industrial Staffing

By | Tips for Job Seekers | No Comments

Job searching can be an overwhelming process, especially when you’ve spent months focusing on it. You’ve applied for numerous jobs, but haven’t heard back from any of them. This happens to more people than you think, so don’t let this discourage you; you’re not alone. If you feel you’ve wasted countless  hours of your day searching for jobs, it may be time to look into getting some assistance with that step. That’s what we are here for.

Did you know that many companies don’t post their available positions for people to openly apply to? These companies don’t want to go through the extra steps of the hiring process, such as the pre-screening process and interviews. Instead, they leave the work to a staffing agency, to find the best people to fill those positions and take care of the other aspects of the hiring process.

Specialized staffing agencies, like us, get to know the personality and skill set of each of the job seekers they work with. By understanding who you are and matching you with the various job opportunities they currently know about, they are able to place a new hire in far less time than traditional methods. Forge Industrial Staffing is the most responsive provider of light industrial and manufacturing staffing. We specialize in providing employees on all shifts to manufacturing and warehouse facilities.

Staffing agencies, such as our self, can assist with various job seeker situations. To meet your expectations we both need to have a clear understanding of your specific needs. With that information, we can provide a tailored staffing solution to satisfy your own unique needs.  If you’re looking for temporary or contract work we can find those opportunities for you. With temporary work, the employee and employer have the chance to determine if it’s a good match. The company may then decide to offer the employee a permanent position if they feel the employee is a good fit. With contracted work, a company will bring in employees for a set amount of time, or month-to-month. These type of positions typically don’t evolve into permanent positions.

If you’re tired of handling the job search all on your own, maybe it’s time to take advantage of our free service. No matter the type of position you’re looking for, we’d be happy to assist you in your search!

At Forge Industrial Staffing, we pride ourselves on having the resources of a large-scale staffing agency while having the personal touch of a specialty agency. Our qualified staff will work with you to find the right job, or right employees for you.

What to Consider When Using a Temporary Employee

By | Tips for Employers | No Comments

Companies will always have use for temporary employees, that’s no question. Whether it be a few extra hands for a new project, or a fill-in employee when someone is gone; a temporary employee is usually the way to go. Just like hiring a normal employee, the process of hiring a short-term one can be quite tedious. The best option for a company is to look into a staffing agency, such as ourselves, to take care of your hiring needs. With our knowledge of your company and our vast database of people who are looking to work, we can guarantee that the process will be a smoother one. There are a few things you should consider when deciding to use a temporary employee.

The Cost of Hiring

Many companies don’t realize the cost of hiring an employee, whether that be a temporary or full-time employee, until they’ve started the process. There is some sort of cost associated with each aspect of the process, such as, the cost of job ads, job fairs, the time spent to look through resumes and online applications, the fees associated with background checks, and the expenditure of training a new staff member. For someone who has multiple other tasks on their plate, it doesn’t make sense to waste the time or money handling the process alone, especially when it’s on a short-term investment.

The good news is that temporary employees don’t require the same benefits as permanent employees. In most cases, it’s cheaper to hire temporary employees for short-term assignments. So, why wouldn’t you look into using a staffing agency to handle this process? By working with Forge, you can save time and money by letting us handle all of the details of hiring a temporary employee, such as implementing the background checks and filling out all of the necessary paperwork.

Safety Concerns

Safety should be the number one concern when hiring temporary employees. It’s important to make a safety a priority for everyone, but because a temporary employee is only there for a short period of time and is usually thrown into the mix, safety precautions can sometimes be put in the back of your mind. There are going to be projects and jobs that are dangerous and it’s important to ensure that the temporary employee has all of the necessary safety training in order to perform their job tasks. You never want to assume that you’re employee knows exactly how to handle a hazardous situation because they’ve worked in a similar environment before.

It’s important to go the extra mile in making sure your new temporary employee has the knowledge to be successful within your company. Forge Industrial Staffing understands your company’s wants and needs. We want to ensure that your temporary employee is an adequate fit for your company, so that the experience as a whole is a good one for the both of us.

At Forge Industrial Staffing, we pride ourselves on having the resources of a large-scale staffing agency while having the personal touch of a specialty agency. Our qualified staff will work with you to find the right job, or right employees for you.
