There are a lot of misconceptions that surround the concept of temporary employment. Let’s face it, there’s no such thing as a, “permanent job” and the process of finding a job that’s close to, “permanent” can be strenuous. Choosing to look into temporary employment isn’t always the first option, but it can definitely be the easier one.
Misconceptions can turn a lot of people off from seeking temporary employment. It’s a possibility that these misconceptions are formed because of the lack of information people have about temporary employment. Below are some of the misconceptions people have about working for Forge Industrial Staffing.

Misconception #1 – You look less employable.
While employed by Forge, you may take on various job opportunities that all require different skill sets. Your opportunity to grow and learn new skills is endless with temporary employment. These skills learned can be beneficial later on as they can be listed on your resume for future job searches. Working for Forge does not make you less employable. You are still able to list the short-term jobs you accept as long as they lasted for 3 months or more.

Misconception #2 – Less pay.
With each job opportunity available comes a differently hourly rate. Forge Industrial Staffing receives multiple work orders throughout the day, all with different pay rates. You can specify with a Service Coordinator what type of pay you’re looking for, so they don’t offer you anything lower than your minimum.

Misconception #3 – Non-flexible schedules.
Everyone’s schedule is different that’s why it is beneficial to have job opportunities that are offered at different times of the day. At Forge, we have jobs offered on 1st shift, 2nd shift, and 3rd shift, giving you the opportunity to choose jobs that fit your schedule best.

Misconception #4 – Never leads to a permanent job.
One of the biggest misconceptions about temporary employment is that temporary jobs do not lead to permanent ones, which isn’t always true. There are actually a lot of people who end up being hired on full-time within the company they were employed. It is always a good idea to let a Service Coordinator know if you are looking for a temporary job that has the possibility of becoming permanent.
